If we had to define sustainable tourism on the Ile d’Yeu, the key word would be respect:
- respect for the relationship between the inhabitants and the tourists throughout your stay,
- respect for the environment and landscapes,
- respect for a sustainable economic activity, all year-round to allow the islanders to live happily on their rock, as a vibrant, active and friendly community.
Tourism is a major commercial opportunity, but also one that we hope will leave visitors with memories of a unique and magical place.
In order to allow the local population to maintain its traditions alongside innovative new ways in sustainable development, in a fragile and coveted environment, sharing between the different stakeholders, sometimes with competing interests, is vital.
